Inspired by Life

We must do our work for its own sake, not for fortune or attention or applause.

Hi! My name is Lauren, and I am a creative entrepreneur. And I struggle with making sure to prioritize my most joy-inducing work: painting, writing, dancing, yoga and learning.

Instead, I tend to get caught up in the busy-ness of life and work: tidying the house, checking instagram, and doing the things that Real Business Owners should do.

The result? Ignoring my creative impulses, experiencing severe creative blocks and struggling to enjoy my day-to-day life.

Then, it hit me.

We don't have to sacrifice our creative, joyful selves on the altar of profitability.

No. There is another way...and it can be even more sustainable than the businesses we have become hampered by.

The Joy|Money Matrix sheds light on what's crucial to our existence and what we can delegate or get rid of entirely.

I had been trying to shoehorn myself into the productivity and prioritization tools for regular people. You know, straightforward thinkers who don't feel angst about their creative output or who don't wonder if their heart decisions are overruling their head.

My thought processes are emotional, sometimes convoluted, and drive me to want to create and have fun! Are running a business and experiencing joy mutually exclusive?

Surely, I thought, I can figure out a way to maximize both profits and the power of joy...

And the Joy|Money Matrix was born.
